I just had a new sound system installed by Audio Works in Newark, DE. They installed my Viper alarm just after I got the car last October. The nice thing about them is that they "listen" to what you want in a system and dont push what they would install in a system. I started with the new Boston Acoustics Rally Series (RC 620) series speakers with 6-1/2" speaker in place of existing speakers and tweeters mounted 1/3 of the way from leading edge of door trim to bring the sound back further. These speakers are very crisp and I can hear all the instruments with amazing clarity as my interest is jazz and blues. I also had a Directed 250 amp installed behind the driver's seat. After trying the system out for a few weeks I decided to have a sub installed as the system needed a little base. They installed a Clarion (marine grade) power sub (160w) 6.5"woofer with adjustable gain and crossover frequencies under the front seat as this is a low profile unit and there is still room to move the seat back and forth without any interference. You not only hear the music but "feel" it as well. This install is very compact and you dont sacrifice "any" room in the trunk. It satisfys my needs and it completely blows away the stock system. The final install was the new Nakamichi (MB-75) 6-disc in dash music bank CD with receiver. It includes a 4 channel high power amp which made the system sound even better, CLOCK, and choice of amber or green lighting. Unfortunately, I had to go with green as these units are hard to get and the door is closed most of the time except when I'm doing a time check. The mechanism for the CD's is awesome and has features galore. Doesnt have MP3 capability yet but I dont have a need for it. Nice and convenient compared to single disc loading or changing a cartridge in the trunk. Even double ejects so all you touch is the center ring of the disc and not the playing surface. Unit has infra red and hardware on order to allow use of dash controls. Cost for the speakers, etc including install was $620. Cost for the head unit, remote hardware and install was around $700. Installation was first class and would recommend to anyone in the Delaware area but only at this location which I would be glad to give you info on.

clarion powered sub eh? What's the model on that bad boy? Does connect via RCA jacks or line level? How much is it? Is it under the driver or passenger seat?

Thanks in advance for the answers...

Sounds like a great system. Where behind the driver's seat did you mount the amp? I drive with my seat all the way back and can't imagine fitting anything back there. Also, the factory alarm mounts under the driver's seat, maybe the sub could be put under passenger's seat??

Do you have pictures?

Definitly sounds like a great system!

I would like to hear more about the sub under the seat....

Is it possible to post pictures and dimensions of the Sub Box?

Thanks

They mounted the amp on the back wall below the hooks for the storage bag. In fact, the storage bag covers the unit so prying eyes cant see it. I go all the way back except for the last notch, but I'm not that tall so its no problem. I dont have a digital camera to post pics. [QUOTE]Originally posted by REVS29K:

Controls for dash should be in next week. Anyone who thinks these controls are redundant should try to see the little buttons on the radio wearing tri-focals and concentrate on the road. [QUOTE]Originally posted by Zippy:
