Good to hear!

I was about to get impatient and go the Dynamat route. Let us know when you are ready to put some kits together. I am a buyer.

Two questions though.

1. How much do you think this kit is going to cost?

2. How much do you expect that it will weigh?

Thanks,

Geoff

Very nice, glad I didn't buy the mats yet. I'm also curious to how much a kit would cost. I'm definitely a buyer if the price is right.

Yet another interested buyer. Sound dampening is a big issue for me.

Also, I have some fabric experts in the family, perhaps I can locate some sort of good dampening material that we can cut and attach to the underside of the convertable top that will dampen sound and fold correctly.

Chipperman, I hope the neck fusion went well. Good to hear that you're up and around.

Sign me up for the noise reduction kit when it becomes available. It sounds great (pun intended!)

If ever there was an area where a kit was indicated, this is it! I cannot wait to get a kit that has the right materials in the right amount accompanied by directions on how and where to install them. I have seen pictures of installations that cover acres of panels with a lot of materials that may or may not be the most effective ones. Such installations probably improve things a lot, but they must violate both the weight and price performance curves.

Definitely count me in for a kit

Fascinating. I can't wait to see the results (sound reduction, weight addition, cost).

I am eagerly and anxiously awaiting the results.

It would be great to drop the noise level WITHOUT adding a lot of weight. I now hve the 4.57 gears and they definitely add more noise.

Standing by to buy!

I could use some sound dampening too. Let me know how much the kit is.

Need help??

I would be willing to:

1. Buy a test version of the kit

2. Install it while documenting the install with pictures

3. Help with writing / editing of text to accompany the installl

Just let me know--I think that this kit would be a great improvement over the current sound levels.

I am not too far out on the final numbers. I ran out of acoustic foam, and a new roll shipped 5/3/04. The rest of the car and all of the panels have been treated. I will publish numbers (sound reduction and pricing) within two weeks. It will be offered as a complete kit, with instructions and all. When I am finished with testing, a new post will be put up requesting interest via pm's. It will be offered for sale via the group buy forum. I intend to fully follow S2KI rules regarding this, so no side orders, please. Do not hold me to this until I am done, but it looks like we will add about 22 to 25 pounds over the existing weight, after the factory material is removed. The oem soundproofing I've removed so far totals less than ten pounds for the entire car. My two floormats weigh more than this!
