spare removed - compressor and fix a flat shoved in a bag in the old space...
weight savings and I am planning on putting a changer in the tool foam area to maximize space. I also had jumper cables and some other small things (tire gauge) that I wanted out of the way - so into the bag and into the spare tire area.
actually - I think the size rating is just for the inflation amount. IE - the can can only reinfalte a tire so much without needing a compressor to properly inflate the tire. I have used a regular 16" rated can of fix-a-flat on an 18" Porsche wheel/tire and it worked ifne using their compressor to finish it off. If you think about it the BMW mobility system is just that - its doesnt actually have more sealant.
Nothing rattles - I put everything in a bag (oil, rag, jumper cables, compressor and fix-a-flat) and then stuffed it in. to make sure it doesnt slide out i just screwed the orignal spare tire bolt back in as a barrier. Works great.
Re: fix-a-flat sealant - it will ruin a tire once its inside. They get out of balance as it dries - but I am not one to patch or repair a high-performance tire to begin with. I'd rather replace it compeletly for peace of mind. The wheels just need to be cleaned up before remounting the new tire.
