- the difference with performance is VERY minimal, so I just went with looks...

V2 is subject to hydro locking but can be avoided if the two holes under the hood (water channel) are covered up. The V2 does have a nice pick up in the mid range and IMO the V2 sounds better but if I had it my way, I would try and get something more like the J's, Mugen or even the spoon snorkle.

Question

Look around the trim that the hood rests on when it's closed, towards the front you'll notice two holes, well actually 4 but we're concerned about the ones on the right side. These two holes channel the water down and unfortunately they flow right on top of the V2 filter. This is why they need to be covered
I think some where in the under the hood forum there is a nice write up on this with pictures, PM Xviper he'll know

I to would like to know how the comptech sounds. I was thinking about getting the V2 but i dont want to have to cut anything on my s2k. I dont think hydrolocking is to much of a problem because i had a aem cai on my civic and my fenderwells were shredded so you could clearly see the filter if my wheels were turned. I live in Seattle and never had a problem for 4 years driving in pouring rain. Im thinking of going with comptech.
