I still don't believe anyone with a stock or slightly modded S2K (i/h/e) going more than about 140-145mph. As I've seen how much the car slows down once it gets in the 130s. Maybe with the top up, windows up and going downhill, but I want to see PROOF of someone doing >145mph.

The car barely goes faster once you are in the 130's on a fairly straight, flat road with the top down. Fifth or sixth gear, doesn't matter. I've seen both and haven't seen anyone break 140mph. SHOW ME PROOF!

I know the S2K is supposed to have a top speed of 155-165mph, according to the car mags. I don't see it happening. Maybe those with a supercharger can hit 150mph, but not a stock S2K. I won't believe it until there is real proof. And not something photoshopped or something you saw a friend of a friend do or some crap like that!

157, bone stock. GPS verified. No passengers and no cars within 10 miles.

I've got proof. My buddy got his S Sept of 99 (one of the first guys, his dad owns a honda dealership). For spring break, around march of 2000, they went down to Panama City. At that time his car had about 8000 miles on it, fully stock with no mods. Apparently there is an old abandond landing strip around there b/c he took it on there and my brother was sitting in the car with him with the top up and camcorder in hand. He recorded (with the camcorder) 151mph on the speedometer.

3 factors here,

1. not sure how accurate the speedometer is
2. there were two people in the car so with one person it would probably go faster
3. the top was up, not sure if this helped or hurt the performance.

2 months later he put the car around a tree but walked away (Probably one if the first s2000's to be totaled)

Either way, my brother has the footage and i've seen it and hopefully one day i can figure out how and put a clip on here to see.

Top up? Flat road or going downhill?

How long did it take to get from 130-150-something? As the car gets to 125-130mph in 5th right around redline. Once you hit sixth, the car barely creeps up in speed.

Are you sure your GPS is that accurate? SHOW ME PROOF!

Top up, flat road. Took about 3 miles or more to get to 157 (after about 140)

I cant show you proof, but at 140 on the speedo, the GPS said 140.56
