Spoon Header makes my car slower!?

I would prefer more low-down punch (the car has ample top-end performance for me) including a more noticeable transition to VTEC. Which brand of header best provides that?

Yeah, it was there Mingster. You had the nice torque dip. Its a characteristic of that header. When looking the mixture it goes very rich there. As I said, either the header isn't scavenging as well there, or there's some reversion.

What do you think of this setup: Mugen header for it's low-mid range punch, and Spoon exhaust for it's peak acceleration? (nice sound BTW)
I am wondering if the Mugen header/Spoon exhaust together would create any performance conflicts.
Thanks,

I would imagine that it would work the opposite way pretty well too. Maybe the Mugen exhaust would provide enough back pressure (as opposed to Spoon single) to fix the scavenging/reversion anomoly that UL was talking about.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
If anything you'd be better off staying with same brand parts, as they were designed to work best in unison...If you are going spoon headers then the recommendation is that you go with a single exhaust as well...The same goes with Mugen...
My personal preference is for the Spoon header for the gains in the final 2000rpms of the powerband...since i like to drive hard in vtec zone always (drag racing)
Since I already have the HKS Exhaust...I'm going against my own recommendation and mixing the spoon with a twin muffler setup...
I will be going with the Spoon Header/HKS Hiper Combo and will have before and after dyno results for you guys! See if the Spoon and HKS can hold hands happily! Will probably purchase the headers in couple months time so don't hold ya breath!
