I was there in the paddock with Shamu on race day. It was 3 gruelling days of prepartion, qualifying, and racing... the entire AJ-R crew worked overtime to make it all happen! Congratulations to everybody at A&J Racing... and to Spoon CEO Tatsuru Ichishima... for a race well won!
Here's a few more pics... ENJOY!!!
Spoon S2000 Race Car at A&J Racing...
In the paddock... getting some final pre-race adjustments...
SPOON Sports is a very well known Honda normally aspirated(NA) engine tuner in Japan. They provide lots of parts for Civic/Integra/S2000 for both street sports driving and circuit racing purpose. SPOON Sports' goal is to look for the ultimate balance, lightest weight and best handling. They don't carry about styling much. So u will not see a lot of fancy body kits from SPOON Sports except some dull black carbon fiber bonnet, wheels and racing seats that is REALLY light.
Also they spend lots of time on test and tune on certain products on the circuit, concentrate on serveral popular Honda models only. Their setup may not be the fastest but their setup should be the most balanced and reliable IMO.
What modifications have been done to the car? It's a "production" class, but the car has a hardtop & GT wing, the interior was gutted (normal), a racing seat and 5 pt harness were added (also normal), and it has an STB. Did Spoon/A&J do anything else to the car? And why does it have Work Emotion wheels on it (especially considering both Advan and Spoon sell wheels that are lighter)?
As I know under N1 and Super Taikyu regulations, minor brakes, clutch, flywheel, suspension, intake, exhaust, and aero dynamics work are allowed. But engine MUST be stock just like FIA Gr.N cars. It's basically just a SPOON balanced stock motor. Most of mods are on footwork.
I think WORK gave them a great deal on making wheels for the DC5,EP3 and AP1. The 16" Emotion are not sold to the street. IMO the 16" Emotion look better than the 16" SPOON somehow.
Originally posted by EFFECT Yea does anyone have any specs on the car? I would especially like to know what suspension is on it, and what spring rates it runs.
Should be SPOON N1(SHOWA) coilovers with f 14k/ r 12k or f 16k/ r 14k setup?
