Interesting...first of all, I saw this car at the Twin Ring Motegi last year. Pretty cool and serious congrats go out to the team and the drivers. Nice win...!

Please also take my questions with a grain of salt. They are not meant to be anything more than simple queries to satisfy some of my own curiosity.

I do have a few questions about the car itself. You say that no real engine mods are allowed in this series, which is what I expected, but you go on to say that the car puts out 265 ponies at the *crank* ... without some serious engine work, IMO, would it be possible to obtain such a dramatic increase in power like that. I can't imagine getting basically 60+ hp from balancing and blueprinting...

I think I know the Spoon "secret" for the ECU, but I'll keep quiet about it...just to respect your privacy, but why not tell what it is? But hey, no big deal...

Showa is a Japanese suspension component maker, did Spoon customize a coilover set up? How is that Spoon if it's an off the shelf Showa setup...? Any more detail on that set up?

Cool about the Ti nuts and bolts tho, that probably saved a fair amount of weight.

Also, I'm really curious why the Spoon car doesn't use their very own rims. It seems that even if they are a wee bit heavier that, since they are Spoon, they would be used on their own race car.

I guess my main question is the claimed hp rating of 265 ponies, but also where is the increase in torque coming from? Especially if there are no engine modifications allowed in this class. This sounds like they run in the equivalent of the T2 class here in the States, so I'm somewhat familiar with the formula...I'm just looking for a few answers. Are there any plots to back this number up?

Again, don't take my questions the wrong way. I'm interested in this car and what has been achieved with it. If you have some more in depth technical knowledge to share about it, I would be interested in it as I think others here would be as well.

Thanks and again, CONGRATS on the win!

I know there are more than one of these cars...but I didn't know there were 8. That's very cool.

I hope my questions are not seen as criticism. I apologized for the brain cramp on the hp rating...it's totally legit. I just was looking for more info on the car...that's all.

No worries about that Greg.

The torque it has, mite be related to ECU setting, and some other engine works such as SPOON throttle that actually improves the torque a bit and let the car have better throttle response.

Of coz, good intake and exhaust setup will help on keeping good low end too. Which SPOON have spent most of their time working on two things, response and all rpm range gain.

The extreme weight savings would also help in giving the car better "pick-up", which might explain the feeling of better torque.
