I have a pretty noticeable gap in the steering column below the turn signal and windshield washer levers.

Where the two pieces of plastic come together, there is at least a centimeter of space that can be squeezed together by hand. Am I being too picky - or does no one else have this?

Do you have the factory alarm?

This clamshell thing got broken on mine when they installed the alarm. There are snaps that if broken, will no longer close properly. My dealer replaced the parts free of charge.

In fact, they were so good about it that when I went to complain about it a week after getting the car,I found out the parts were already on order, and that I was already scheduled to get this fixed. They just hadn't told me.

Yep, I just noticed the same thing about 2 weeks ago. I have the factory alarm, so I'll have to look into that.
