Default Steering wheel height shims

Okay, I was surfing around for cool JDM stuff, and I was on Foe's homepage.

http://www.dry-unet.com/foe_home/

Unfortunately, the website is done in Javascript and I can't isolate the correct page. Nor can I stick the page into Babblefish to translate.

This is what I do know:

1) To get to the page I'm referencing, click on the above link.

2) Click on FOE AP1

3) Under articles, there is a heading Others. Click on 2.

4) Dated May 15,2002, there is an entry entitled tilt adjust.

5) Click on INSTALL.

You will see that there are 3mm and 5mm shims that raise the steering wheel up from stock position. Can anyone get anymore info on these shims?

I'd really, REALLY, like to get a set to raise the wheel up a bit and I'm sure there are a ton of people that on this board that would like to do the same.

Let's see if we can figure out who the supplier is, or if someone knows FOE, can they email him for the information?

Looks surprisingly simple -- why couldn't you just use washers on the bolt instead of those U-shims? I used BabelFish to translate the page (http://www.dry-unet.com/foe_home/nextcar/p...st/tiltadj.html) and it mentions washers, but wasn't clear whether there's a drawback to using them.

Good find!

Twohoos, thanks for that page.

Okay, it looks like it is just one bolt you need to put spacers on, so the U-style spacers will allow you to space the wheel without pulling the nut completely off the bolt.

Now all I have to do is source some spacers in about 3mm increments with an inner diameter for a 14mm bolt. Hmmm, off to Home Depot.
