Stook demand in SoCal?
I tried using priceline.com in attempts to find a dealer in my area willing to sell for MSRP. I got an email today stating that demand for the car is very high in NorCal and that I may want to consider looking in the Southern CA region.
Got me thinking: Are stooks in low demand down there?

I bought mine at Spreen Honda in Redlands, CA (near San Bernardino) for MSRP. I went to the Honda site on the Internet and started looking. I said I'd pay MSRP for the car and only had two dealers respond. The Redlands dealer is in my town so I called them to verify the deal. The sales person said I'd have to be sure to tell them I had been on the Internet. I had also already filled out credit information on the Internet and had preapproval from Honda finanace to purchase. When I went in to the dealer I noticed the window sticker had an additional $4-5K but they did sell me the car for MSRP. Hope that helps.
There are a lot of places in SO Cal where you can find MSRP. Just have to be diligent about it. A lot of times, the dealerships have "special" prices on the car for only a limited time.
bradkarma - I saw the car at Airport Marina Honda. That dealership is such a rip off. I'm surprised they can even sell any S2Ks with the markup they want.

Buena Park Honda sold me mine for $36K four months ago but I had to raise a stink to avoid getting the full spoilers/side strakes/CD changer rip-off. Most dealers are adding these options and charging outrageous mark-up on them. I believe I could have got it for MSRP if I waited another month or two (like I was going to wait!).

I got an online quote at Gardena honda for MSRP in march/april. Thats exactly what I paid, even though the sticker on it was $40k. I think all dealers will put a markup on the sticker, but I also think there are a few that will let the marked up cars go at MSRP to let you think you got a great "deal".
