Default Strange noises

I just went into the garage to sort out a beer, having finished thrashing the S2K. It was moaning at me

A sort of buzzing moaning, like a wasps' nest, or a big transformer.

I remember one of the members (one of the girls) posting a query about something similar some time back.

Since it was coming fron the back, & it's too early for wasps I opened the fuel filler cap and Pssst! it stopped.

Shaking the fuel around on a hot evening must create a lot of vapour.

Another mystery solved, I should change my handle to Scooby-Doo.

PS

It started again a couple of minutes later

I think I have that problem as well although I havent been able to pinpoint exactly where on (or in) the dash it is coming from. Where exactlly is your rattle coming from?

I am so please someone else has a 'moaning' stook! I thought I was going mad...........when parked my car will 'moan' (the noise sounds a lot like a ships 'fog horn' in the far distance) regularly - every few minutes-for hours after a drive. As noted above, the noise seems to com from the rear of the car, on the fuel tank side.

I have stopped both thinking I am going bonkers and worrying about this. But I would be fascinated to know what is causing the noise...........is this a common 'feature' of the car? Any ideas what causes it??????

I haven't noticed this on my S2000, but my wifes Accord does it all of the time. I think it has to do with the evaporative emissions system.

You might want to try the "REAR VIEW" Mirror too. That's where my rattle comes from. My wife picked it out one day since I couldn't pinpoint the source. I just move the mirror and reset it. That seems to work for about a week or so.
