sunglasses
I bought a cheap pair of polarised lens sunglasses today to put me on til I can afford better and to see how much of a difference they made and they are a massive improvement!
I looked into how polarised lenses worked as I wondered why they were different. They have vertical light filters that block horizontal light from entering. This good for driving because the sunlight itself is vertical light, when it bounces off the road or other cars it will be horizontal and so u don't see it as a reflection. It also makes LCD displays look weird and the s2k digital dash!! That's why they are also recommended for fishing (stops water glare) but not for skiing as quickly turning thru hills etc puts different levels on a horizontal plane so it gets confusing where the shade is. Amazing!

Where do most of you guys get your sunglasses from? Do you order online or go to a brick and mortar store?
How do you buy sunglasses online without trying them on first? Or do you go to a store to try them on and then buy online type of thing.
This thread is making me re-evaluate my $15 mall sunglasses

I switched to "Good" sunglasses a couple years ago when I realized that my job literally depends on my eyes. Cheapos will get it done, and expensive sunglasses are definitely a luxury. But, when you think how often you use them, for me it is a luxury that's worth the money (like a good watch). I appreciate my sunglasses that I wear every day way more than the nice dress shoes and suit in my closet for months at a time

I wore them before the show.American optics makes them too,I have both brands, 5 pairs, silver gold, gunmetal,50 and 52 mm. my wife says I look like a cop, I guess if Reno 911 counts. They are classics and made to fly a jet, appropo dontcha think?

wow, I never knew Maui Jims carried this great of a reputation. Nearly a decade ago, I lost my $200 pair of Revos (I think that's what they were called. They claimed they used the same lenses used in astronaut helmets).
Anyway, I ended up buying a pair of Maui Jims that the worker there recommended was similar to the pair that I had just lost. To this day, I had wondered if that guy was just selling me something that just wasn't selling.

I think anything that's polarized with a name (not 2 for 20) works well.
My eyes were kinda sensitive to sunlight, thi pair solved evrythin.

went back to the store, they wouldn't do sh-t, basically they want me to fork out 40 dollar for an inspection to see if it's defective. of course the 40 dollar and shipping to them is not refundable even if it's proven to be defective.
That was my third and last pair of oakley...Made in USA with pride and with top notch customer service my arse.
my favorite: Wayfarer, aviator
