Default Super Charigng/Turbo Charging and Reliability

I have a 2002 S2000. The car is absolutely amazing. However, like many of you, I want more speed. I see a good number of people have supercharged/turbo charged their cars. I had a few questions:

1. Does Super/Turbo charging decrease the lifespan of the engine? If so, which is worse.

2. Are there other parts of the car (i.e. clutch, differential) that need to be upgraded to have a reliable SC'ed S2000?

3. Does the extra power throw off the amazing balance of the S2000's suspension?

I am thinking about a super charger since it is cheaper and from what I hear my be less intrusive to the engine.

Thanks in advance

if you want reliability and warranty, better not supercharge or turbo. I would go with NOS. if something happens to the motor, take the NOS out and it will look like it hasn't been touched...

Horrible advice, totally disregard. Stay away from nitrous with this car, unless you plan on doing it properly (ie. direct port w/ progressive controller) in which case it will cost almost as much as the Comptech SC and give you much less flexibility. All of them will cause increased wear and tear on your motor, as for how much... nobody really knows yet, it'll take a while to figure that one out. I don't think either the SC or a Turbo will change the balance of the car, just give it more power. The SC personifies the stock nature of the car whereas the turbo will give you more power throughout.

Thanks derryck. The post definitely did not sound right to me.

There is another on-going thread debating FI vs. NA cars. I think for now I'll leave the car as is. It is a blast to drive. Maybe as it nears the end of the warranty period, I'll consider FI (especially since more data will be available)

The Mugen approach in their S2200 is the better way to improve the S2000 IMHO, than FI.
