Supercharger problems and Warranty
Hey Greg, Where do you get this bit about us being in court with several cases of s/c NSX engine failures? I've been with the company for over 2 years and I know of zero such cases. There was one engine failure on a supercharged NSX that I know of. The guy tried to blame Comptech for the failure, but the actual cause was lack of sufficient oil in the engine. He was running a 2-day track event and had never even checked his oil level!
Let me try and clear up a couple things on the warranty issue. First, there is no official connection between Honda and Comptech. Second, there is Federal law protecting the consumer when it comes to the use of aftermarket parts on their car. Basically, if there is a failure on the car, the dealer must prove that the failure was caused by the aftermarket part before they can deny warranty coverage on that part. They cannot legally void the whole warranty on the car.
One reason you see dealerships promote Comptech performance parts over other brands is because of the way we stand behind our products and because of our reputation.

Thanks Mike for clearing this up. All the local dealerships in the Bay Area have no problem with installing and covering under warranty, the cars that have Comptech parts. And my understanding is that Comptech has always covered their part is their part was indeed responsible in any way for a failure. Please correct me if I am wrong.
If my supercharged has a problem, a Honda dealer inspected and found it is defected, does Comptech suppose to ship a new supercharged and pay for the labor cost? Assume the only mod I have is the supercharger.
If you make it to your first oil change without issue then your engine is probably fine and will not require significant repair until after the warranty expires. Your warranty covers manufacturing defects, the damaged caused by failure due to those defects and the labor required to affect the repair for 36000 miles or 3 years whichever comes first. If you are planning to add a blower of some kind I would recommend waiting for at least a year after purchase. That way any significant defects will be discovered. It is possible that the SC will cause some unknown defect to surface and the risk is fairly small, still there is some risk. You can be assured however that if your drivetrain gives out (as it did for wesmaster) you will be stuck with the bill.
Void your warranty means your engine and drivetrain warranty, not the whole warranty for the car.

There have been some failures of the CAT do to the excess vibration problems which in turn foul the #2 O2 Sensor which have gotten the old finger pointing deal going back and forth on which
