Harry:

Like RT said they told me the only way to take the tranny out was to lower the motor about
4 inches and in order to do that they had to remove the SC. Believe me if it wasn't necesary
I wouldn't have let the dealer touch it because it also cost me a broken SC bracket !!But
I was lucky it was covered uder Comptechs warranty.

what caused the bad transmission? is your transmission better now?
do you think the SC caused the failure in the tranmission

My first to second gear grind got worst after installing SC. I ignored it and contiued driving till it wouldn't go to 6th gear no more , then I knew I had a big problem!!I think adding the extra HP caused the problem . My tranny feels better know and I haven't had the grind problem yet (2500miles after fix).

I think the added hp on it's own is not the problem - but the way the driver responds to the added power in terms of rushed shifts etc. The extra "drag" on the engine may also be a cause since the revs don't fall as fast - affecting shift timing...
