Supercharger problems and Warranty
Basic rule for any new car, anything that changes the operation of a car will void the engine/transmission warranty.... examples would be cams, turbos, different injectors, ecu, ignition systems... if it does not change the functioning of the engine your warranty claim would be near impossible to deny, examples, header, exhaust, air intake. I can however see on a car such as a WRX, how an intake can cause warranty problems as the MAF position is changed and can cause severely retarded timing (so really you probably cant cause any problems to the car, but Subaru isn't going to fix it for you either)
A couple of dealers in our area will perform the warranty repair if you had them install the SC'er. My dealership said if I had Comptech or another know company already install it, they would still honor the warranty.

[B]As far as I know, if you modify your car (all applies to any car, not just the S2000), the dealer has the right to decline warranty service.

Although the S/C has to be attributed to the failure for warranty denial, just about any part of the powertrain could be denied based on a claim that it wasn't engineered to reliably handle the extra 100HP.
Harry,
Any dealership that refuses to fluid changes on a car just because it has a supercharger on it is just throwing money away. The federal law I was referring to is a consumer protection law that protects you, the consumer, against warranty denial unless they can prove that the failure was caused by the non-factory part. The burden of proof lies with the car manufacturer to prove what caused the failure. This law does not force them to service a car with modifications though. Our product warranty would cover an engine failure IF it was caused by a failure of a component of the supercharger. It does not cover clutch, transmission, differential, tires or anything else. They would more than likely be the responsibility of the car owner.

I've had my SC for almost 6 months now (drove 7,000miles) and the only problem I had was transmission.
Took it to the dealer , told them the problem and their response was "we have to take the whole tranny
apart 980$'s plus parts and 300$'s to take the supercharger off and back on ". To keep the story short the
head service guy felt bad for me and warrantied the car , the only thing I ended up paying was the labor
for the SC.BTW they had to replace almost 30 bad parts inside the tranny and took them three weeks to
fix it .
