taking up 2 parking spaces?
I almost always park away from other vehilcles for this reason. If anything I find a curb to park right up next to. Leaving alot of room on the other side so if someone does park there door(s) won't hit..

last time i parked my car far away from everyone to avoid dings, someone conveniently rammed a shopping kart into my trunk.
I usually park in the "far" spots as well. (I've always thought about this as well} If you take up 2 spots by parking sideways, then two other cars may decide to park on both sides and block you in so you couldn't get out, aside from getting your car vandalized

Wrong. Taking up two spots in an S or a Lambo warrants the same possible outcome.
If you think it's not safe to park a $34k car in between two spots, what makes you think parking a $200k+ car the same way is any less likely to get vandalized?
Just know that the Costco and Walmart parking lots are going to be filled with the same useless pieces of trash that are in the lines at check-out. Accept it and you'll live longer.

For those who think "it's only a Honda", this particular Honda is my Lambo - I am sure I feel about it the same way the Lambo guy feels about his - maybe even more so. Same when I had "just a Civic SiR".
If you know a parking lot is going to get filled up, why wast time and effort parking in the back? You are going to have someone park next to you; some will even say "look at this guy - parking in the back to avoid me? I'll park right next to him then". Parking in the back or the secluded floors etc. may invite more unwanted attention than a regular park. Face it, you are going to get dings - learn to live with them and save up some money to have them fixed once a year or something.
ever notice how there are so many open handicapped spots? park your car so your tires are right on the edge of the handicapped line. its perfect cuz there probably wont be anybody parking in the handicapped spot AND the car on the other side of you will be too far away to ding your car. works every time!
I always just park out in the boonies. I don't mind the extra walk. I'm not a fan of double parking, but we have a customer whom often brings his Ford GT and he double parks. He is only here for ~10-20 min and we have a small parking lot, so I find that completely acceptable. Kids with their riced out Civics, however, should not be double parking.

If you see a car in 2 spots, leave the owner a message of displeasure (and I ain't talking pencil and paper).
If you are going to park your car on a lot, be it a Yugo, or a diamond studded Rolls, you are exercising implied consent to the rules of sharing the lot.
If you don't want your Rolls to get dinged, hire a body guard for the auto while you drop off your Blockbuster dvds.
