1 spot, usually farther away, 1 side always protected by a curb, etc.

The only, and ONLY time you can do this is if you either

A) Drive a Lambo
B) Drive a Ferrari
C) Drive a GT3 RS
D) Any car over $120,000

Hell no! Yes I hold those cars high up on a pedastal, and would respect the same boundries I would hope people would respect my S's. I think we can call it a "worth not cost thing". I have no more, or less respect for some one who makes 29k a year and is proud of his new civic Si, as a person with a Gallardo and makes 2mil a year. In a huge parking lot, who knows how much each car is "worth" to each owner? That Gallardo may "worth" less than that civic!
I far as Im concerned, Gallardo dude can park way back like me, (even next to me if he likes!)

Until someone else pays my car payment, cleans and waxes my car, fixes the dings, etc. they have no right to tell me how or when to park. Get over it!! If I am not causing other people not to be able to park by taking 2 spaces right by the door then it's no one else's business.

I always look for the wider than normal spots, those with a curb on one side, a car backed into a parking spot (so that I can park with both passenger doors to me since there are fewer passengers than drivers), etc. failing all that I park out and take up 2 spaces.

Yes, I come back and sometimes the lot is fuller than when I went in and now I am in the thick of things, but usually that's not a prob. Unlike some of the others, I have never come back and found a nice car parked next to mine.

I started taking up 2 spaces because inevitably, even tho I had parked in BFE, I would come back and a clunker would be parked extra close to my car. That seldom happens now that I cross the line. They still park near me, but not right up by the door.

There are someplaces I simply won't shop at due to their parking space widths. I much prefer Costco to Sams just for that reason. Costco parking spaces are much wider than at Sams. It not only makes it easier to load your vehicle when you get out, but it is much easier to drive and park. I'll bet there are fewer fender benders in their parking lot as well.

I take care of my vehicles, just because you don't is no reason to go out of your way to try to teach me a lesson. Are you jealous that other people care and have nice things? Why? Don't you have a real life?

I don't understand the mentality that says if you try to take care of your stuff you deserve to get keyed. This kinda fits in with the "what do you think is poor" thread in Off Topic and the "personal space laws" in another thread.

There are assholes out there and no matter what care you take they will try to bring you down to their level.

In most cities a developer must provide X number of parking spaces for Y amount of store square footage. To make it even worse the city of Dallas has just approved allowing the developers to count "compact only" spaces as part of those spaces. Previously these substandard spaces were not allowed in the count. It's only gonna get tighter out there.

What I want to know is when parking spots started getting so small. My Titan is no longer than say a '59 Olds Super 98, and there is no way I can fit lengthwise in a modern parking spot.

Dude get over yourself. You drive an S2000, not a Bentley.

Like everyone else in the thread has said, if you park in 2 spaces, you are asking for it. Sometimes the lot might not be full when you park there but in a couple hours it sure as hell might be.

Actually at work, I always get the closest spot against a curb, my friend gets the #2 spot, and my boss gets a spot in that area. Technically we are supposed to park across the street at a motel, but I've seen the SWAT team there a few times, and the police their nightly (most dangerous part of town, the reviews for that motel just talk about how they feared for their life all night long). So because of that, and having gotten hit at work, I'll tell my boss I have more than 1300 reasons why I refuse to park at the motel.

I've always wondered when people park far away. It does avoid door dings from other cars but has anyone ever had any bad experience by parking far away from other cars? Why does it seem to me like since you park far away from everyone else, your car is more noticeable by thieves? Or by assholes who probably key your car because he thinks you're showing off how special your car is? I normally just park with other cars so my car doesn't stand out. Luckily I haven't encountered any ding issues.

On the flip side. I know a Bentley owner who could give 2 Sh*ts about the car. Wheels are all curbed, scratches on the paint, etc. Door dings do not bother him. I myself worked very hard to get my S. Door dings are upsetting. I can see reason to take 2 spots.
