Team Voodoo knob engraving: how we
Hi Rick,
I am a little confused about the process and leaving the mask on. If the mask is left on how is the product finished?
If you leave the mask on and I purchase the knob will I need to go to an engraver to have them finish it?
Thanks for the photos - the knobs look great.

Once the mask is cut away , the knobs are then put in a sand blaster, which is used to cut away metal from the surface and create the engraved pattern.

walkabt,
If you read the post carefully, I think you'll understand. The laser cuts through the mask, exposing the metal underneath so the sandblaster can cut through it. The mask protects the rest of the knob, which has already been finished (spun, polished, pearl, etc).
The mask just peels off, revealing the beautiful knob underneath.

Nice pictures and detail, I often wondered how some of this stuff was done. Rick, thanks for taking the time to perfect, photo, and explain.
Rick, I gotta' tell ya', the work you do and your attention to detail never ceases to amaze me. I adore the stock knob, but it has always felt a bit high for me, the Voodoo knob has been a consideration from time to time but after this thread...I just had to purchased one.
Thanks again for the work you do, being a top-caliber business man, and all around cool dude.
Andrew
