The only thing I didn't like about the AP2 was the slower steering rack.

CR solved that problem.
Also, when you're talking about "cheaper" AP1 costs... keep in mind that the residual value is a lot lower when you sell it as well.
Yes it is but I think AP1's being older already will lose less value then AP2's. Hell you can get '05 and all for like 15k these days. Ap1 with similar miles are getting a few grand less but a good bit older.

haha wow. No reason to get so offended by it lol. AP2 is nice AP1 is nice. Personally like the AP1.
I have no problems with people's opinions on which car is better, only misinformation and ignorance.

but the 2002 is the best year, it's the fastest, sold the most number of units and has been touted by Collector Car as the one to look out for, but i'm a little biased and i might be embellishing a little.
I really can't see or understand what you are saying ...

Ok so shocks aren't softer? Flywheel is not heavier? Sway bars aren't smaller? Didn't put cdv in? vsa? made it heavier etc? Where's the misinformation there?

We had a discussion about used values a while back, the net was that S2000 values fall in line to make a pretty even trend year by year - no one year stands out in value, but the early years have reached that bottom of around $9-10k, where depreciation almost stops completely. The newer the car, the greater the depreciation, but there's no inherent in any one year over another what the data people have looked at.

You need to be asking why the changes were made, and what the outcome is of those changes. Simply pointing to a change and saying its bad ignores what the overall effect was on the car.

From everyone I have talked to about it and as many have posted here it was done to make the car more daily driver friendly and more comfortable.
I have never owned one but did test drive it and that is the feel I got from it.

I think having more power, a more tractable power band, and easier to control suspension makes it a better car for most drivers.

Sure it's not as tail happy as the AP1, but things like a smaller sway bar also allows the AP2 to have a faster slalom speed.

I don't think "raw" is always desireable and it doesn't neccesarily mean faster.

Yeah that's true. Personally I would like a European AP2 or something that keeps the F20c engine. Like the looks of the AP2 more.

With the side effect that it was easier to drive on a track and therefore faster....
