Yeah that's true. Personally I would like a European AP2 or something that keeps the F20c engine. Like the looks of the AP2 more.
Ya I've unfortunately never enjoyed the 9000rpm redline

I did test drive some AP1's but never felt right ripping it up to redline on back roads during the test drives (they were private sellers, not dealerships).

That said, I do still enjoy my less atmospheric 8000rpm redline

What I've read many times is that the "AP1 is better for track and weekends and AP2 is better for daily driving". I think there is truth in that, but honestly both cars are great to drive and are more of a pure sports car than 95% of the alternatives out there (maybe 98% for the AP1).

I've met a surprising number of people in a short period of time that saw my car and remarked that they had owned one at some time and it was the best sports car they'd ever driven.

Neither rendition is the fastest around the track or fastest in a line but they're both a hell of a lot of fun for not much money.

Exactly how much time do you spend over 130mph?

And to be honest the AP2 is more fun than the AP1, it has numerous improvements that make it more enjoyable to drive. Having logged countless hours in both I think its safe to say the AP2 lets you focus more on driving than on crashing like the AP1, lol
agreed. I have spent many hours in each as well.

I've driven a SMG M3. It SUCKED. SUCKED is a kind word to use. The 6spd ones are nice, though.

I wish I could flaunt money on a website.
Wow are you serious? What's a guy like you doing driving an m3? Do you even know what an m3 is or what it's capable of? You probably drove a little automatic 323ci.

I thought people who aren't cool enough to drive S2000s get M3s.

You have two M3s you say?

I enjoy the idea of the ap1. For me, its also what Honda originally set out to achieve when building the car. Its a drivers car. very basic, no bones. the ap1 powerband can be a bit annoying...its a love hate thing at times, but at the end of the day I love it. Just cruising around then the dark side comes out, you can be ripping it to 100 in 2nd, tough to do in the city no electronic goodies to keep you safe, you have to slowly learn the car and respect it just like a race car umm, carpeted console, i dunno why love it. the seats with headrest cutout, 9k is awesome.

I think he's saying the automatic sucked, not the M3 itself.

I agree with this. All the electronic nannies on some of today's cars (although most can be turned off) make them annoying to drive.
