Loud sound... had me worried
This morning, I was in the process of leaving for work. I release the e-brake, and let the clutch out in 1st.
The car didn't move like it was on chock blocks. I shifted into reverse (I was parked on the curb) and got the same result, the car wouldn't budge. I played with the e-brake again and still no go. I got a little more brave and tried to move off with more power.
BAM! A loud sound like something in the drivetrain broke I thought. I got out of the car to look around to find the source of that sound. I didn't find anything.
I got to work and after thinking about it, I recall the last thing I did before parking the car was washing it at night. I believe it was the brakes that got seized from the water (hence the rust marks on the surface of the rotors) in the morning. I talked to my friend at Honda (an experienced mechanic) and he said the same thing... he assured me that I wasn't the only one who's experienced this.

Perfectly normal.
If you're going to park your car for a few hours after washing it, there's no way around it, even if you engage in reverse and omit the parking brake.
The best you can do to prevent this is just to push the car forward and back a few times in neutral after 1-2 hours and then leave the car in reverse without pulling up the parking brake.

Thanks for the reassurance. I guess another approach would be to go out for a short drive to do whatevers and by then all the moisture should've evaporated, preventing this from happening again.

after washing, i just leave it in gear with using the ebrake and the noise never occurs. it only happened the first 2 times i washed the car and used the ebrake. also, try not to spray too much water at the wheels if they're not too dirty.
