Default Temporary Antenna Removal

Does the rubber antenna simply twist off without tools or do I need to unbolt it from the trunk? I bought a car cover which does not accommodate the antenna so this would be a task every time I want to take it out.

The antenna mast just unscrews. Probably need something more than just your fingers.

Most will unscrew with just your hands. S2k antennas used to get stolen all the time and pop up on other cars because people liked the stubby little antennas off our cars.

Hi D,
As an alternative, just have a fabric shop cut a proper hole in the cover so you can still have the antenna.

Or add a sox to accommodate the antenna.

I take mine off every year before storage (I was able to unscrew it by hand) and put some electrical tape over the hole and put the car cover on.
