Test Drives on S2K???
I got 2 test drives ... there was about 5 months between them. 1st one I went out to the dealer and drove a 'demo' with about 1800km on it. The 2nd one they brought to my work (where I have some nice roads). This one had about 3000km on it. I bought mine about a week after the 2nd test drive.
here in portugal.the honda people have 2 cars you can test drive.
all of them have some decent miles on them already,so when you take them for a spin,i mean you can realy take them for a spin...9000.
when the car came out in sept.99.honda europe brought in 4 cars. they got all the people interested in purchasing one
and took turns driving them."awsome" at that time.
thats when i bought mine...since my name was on the list of buyers, and at that time i was goig to pick it up and resell it.
i have it in the garage and wouldnt sell it at any pri

I was able to test drive the car twice, once at the first dealer (the screwed me on the price) and then again when I bought my car. They would only let people test drive them if they were really serious about buying
Ask your dealer about their actual order/delivery policies. I was fortunate enough to have gotten a test drive (good move by my dealer 'cause I wasn't really serious about buying a car that day!). So I ordered one in the color I wanted. But Sunnyside Honda gave me the option to back out for ANY reason at the time of delivery. So I think you could ask your dealer if you have the option to drive your car when it arrives and still back out if you're not happy with the torque and handling. (You won't be disappointed.) Good luck!
I got to test drive one when an anxious salesman called me to tell me about a guy who had just traded his 2000 silver for a 2001 Yellow. I had told the salesman earlier in the month that I was ready to buy, but had not yet made up my mind because I didn't feel comfortable buying without first driving. The traded in model had 8600 on it. I was sold as soon as I hit the street. I too was woried about low RPM acceleration, but it was quite good. I used V-tech a couple of times on the highway. It was like a rocket.
My dealer was pretty hesitant to let me "taker her around." He assumed (rightly so) that I was just another looky loo. I really had no intention of buying the car, so I copped an attitude and left, saying, "look, if you want me to buy one of these you're going to have to let me drive it."
Long story short...they called to have me come and drive it. I was too embarrassed to say no. I drove it for about three miles and bought it immediately (unplanned).
Morale of the story: Whether you test drive it or not, this is THE car. If you're a roadster lover, don't miss this opportunity. You'll never regret having owned a true representation of what a classic roadster should be like.
