Test drove a '05

What about the slew of 04+ cars suffering from gear disengagement under load.
Also, what I've been reading lately with regards to how the 04-05 have a lesser degree of build quality due to unidentifiable issues; one perhaps being the move to the new factory is quite bothersome. I also don't like how I've read numerous times that due to the extra torque you don't feel VTEC kick in as well as you do in the AP1. I've also read on numerous occasions where previous AP1 owners moving "up" to an AP2 have stated that although the AP2 felt more "solid", the majority of them said that they felt the AP1 was "more fun".
"Better" is such a relative term and means so many different things to people that this debate will NEVER die.

Then why not provide one of the MASSVIE 150 they have dynoed that matches your numbers?
Here is an 03 dyno:
Are you guys happy?

I would be if I saw at least 10 other dyno's of 04's or 05's putting down the same numbers as yours.
You requested for ONE "Then why not provide one of the MASSVIE 150 they have dynoed that matches your numbers? "
I did that via the test from TOV.
Now you want 10? Make up your mind.
I have both. I accepted the truth. I don't care which one is more powerful or faster. I don't care about 9000RPM or 9100 or 9200 vs 8000 8100 8200. I don't care for the ECU difference between MY00/01-MY02/03.
You really think that a 2.0 and 2.2 has no difference in power? Why don't honda just keep the 2.0 and add the KIA gears to it to improve torque? Don't tell me it's marketing skills to sell more cars.
I'm not going to respond anymore to this thread. Pictures are worth a thousand words. You don't have an 04 so your credibility is shot. I am one of the few that has both. I can vouch. I might even go back to an a older model. I do miss 9000 RPMs.
Sorry, you're right, I should have specified 10 to begin with.
Your car, I'm sorry to say, is not the be to end all in this debate IMO. When I start seeing more dyno's that show 240whp aside from the mere two that exist then I'll start to believe.
Strange how no other dyno puts out numbers like these except for the magical Church dynomometer.

Back to back same day dynos on cars of all years have shown zero trend for any year.
No offense...but, I've yet to read about the more "raw" MY00-01 cars accelerating faster than the '04+. Perhaps you have a (two) "factory freak(s)" yourself, SteveC, and you've been running roughshod over the 04+ cars without fully informing this site?
Most information I've read (SteveC and Alexf20c comments aside) seems to consistently indicate that there is an additional 5-10 whp for the 02-03 over the earlier models and that there is 5-10 whp in the 04+ models over the 02-03. However, I haven't seen your back-to-back dyno plots comparing your stock 01's with the new models. Care to share?
btw...as I said in my earlier post, I continue to think ALL these cars are an exceptional deal...I'm just having some difficulty swallowing this "raw" and "soft" business.
Well, I think it is now official. We have fianlly beaten this topic to death.
Damn........
Can't wait until Pontiac and Saturn get their roadsters on the highway. Can you imagine how much fun we are going to have once we get a few GM owners wandering over to our forum!
