Nope. Unlike you it appears I actually read this board and retain that knowledge.

bahahahaha.....you get your "knowledge" from a public opinion forum on the internet???
when someone states they PERSONALLY know someone who has issues with (insert car name here), it gets dismissed by you.....
dude, you're hilarious...and ignorant at the same time.
'05 THREAD CORNER!!!!!!!!!

No dude, you are amazing.
You jump in and insult everyone when, if you took the time to read all the posts, you would have realized your stupidity.
I love people who can't be a part of any discussion without having to resort to name calling and insults.

what i find amusing is that no one - NO ONE - has mentioned the slower rack. makes me wonder if any of you even have the brainpower to analyze the differences in the 2 cars. it as evident as the nose on your faces, the minute you turn the wheel - you could be going 10mph or 100mph.
this still going on? Lol I just realized we have alot of 04 owners in this thread. Guys guys no ones going to win in this argument since everyone will stick up for their car and bash the other years. There are advantages and disadvatnages with both. I'm sure all of it equals out in the end.
Just mod your s2k and its a new game on looks and acceleration. We are all S2k owners, lets get along!

Again, comparing dyno plots on the Internet is pointless. That said, the most accurate means to do so is to have a number of cars from various years dyno'd on the same day. It comes as no surprise that when this has occured, ala the Texas dyno day there was ZERO trend for any year. The range was from 190 all the way to 210hp. You can find indiviual dynos from any year that are going to be higher or lower than those from any other year due to the variances in the dyno type, temperature, barometric pressure etc.
Did some searches on Dyno Days, and here's a few that backup my claims of a couple of extra horsepower for the '04s (I'm talking about 10-15whp more, not 1 or 2 which would mean virtually nothing)...
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=214179 (MY04 - 220whp, MY02 - 211.7whp)
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...=234072&st=100 (MY04 - 225.3whp, MY00-03s were hitting between 199-211whp)
Here's one from my neck of the woods
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...=180326&st=100 (Stock MY04 - 209.6 (only revved up to 8000rpms); Stock MY02 - 197.7 (only revved up to 8800 rpms); Slightly modded MY01 - 207.3)
Here's the one from Texas, you mentioned:
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...pic=164688&hl= (Stock MY00 (37k miles)- 202.48, Stock MY03 (5k miles)- 202.77, Stock M04 (670 miles)- 201.11, Stock MY04 (1700 miles) - 205.57)
As you can see, the Texas dynos definitely suggest almost exactly the same horsepower, but if you believe that the engine will unlock more horsepower as it starts to loosen up (670 miles and 1700 miles is not exactly what you'd call a "broken in" engine), you could easily say that the 2 stock MY04s will be putting down more than the MY00 when they reach over 10k miles.
The rest of the dyno days ... Well I'll leave those numbers up to you guys to decide.
Like I said before, most tests have shown that the MY04 is no faster than the MY00-03s ... But they dyno slightly higher. I'd imagine that peak horsepower is probably somewhat effected by the bump in displacement. Its not as significant as the TOV dynos suggest, but it is something that seems pretty reproducable, about a 10-15whp gain ... Pretty much to put the MY04s on par in terms of acceleration with the MY00-03s which have lighter rims.
