Theft, New s2000 owner desperately need help!
dude, tell the adjuster that those seats are no where near what you had, the wear on them is not even close to comparable.
he should give you new oem pricing after getting those in (you'll have to send those back to the used parts vendor ofcourse).
keep us posted!

The difference in your case is just because other people got $2000 per seat, in no way means YOU will get $2000 a seat. You have openly admitted you're trying to scam the insurance company by stating you want to get seats and have money leftover for other things. That is not how it works. The insurance company is obligated to replace what you had with similar condition seats - generally they operate by looking at local parts yards, then out of state parts yards, then new OEM. If they have sourced you seats that are locally used - then that's what you'll get most likely. You did not have brand new seats in your S2000, you had 10 year old seats in your S2000 with minor wear on them.
Trust me, I'm all for getting what you deserve, but don't expect a $4000 check when your seats would have sold for ~$1000 on Craigslist.
If you show initiative and fight the adjuster's proposal you will almost always win without a fight!
Insurance companies are in the business of screwing people out of money...that's how they make a profit! My sister's car was rear ended and the at-fault's insurance company wanted to total it...so she waiting for them to call back with an amount...they never called...instead they just sent a check in the mail (50% less than the car was worth)... If she had cashed that check she would have been accepting their low pay out and the insurance company would have won! She fought them and ended up with a check for 10% more than the car's Blue Book.

Thank you for your analysis. I did not tell the insurance company my plan, I come up with it because if I get everything fixed to its original condition who knows there will not be another loss in the future (I am a graduate student here in atlanta, I could not afford renting a single family house with garage). I do not know it is considered as scam, I did find it is your decision to spend the fund. That is my understanding of it and I found other owners did suggest getting after market seats and a better alarm system after theft. You mentioned they sold for 1000 on Craiglist, I admit that but it is largely because there are way too many thefts and I do not think we should ever buy or consider craiglist/ebay as resources to estimate value. (I know Honda asks way more than it worth...)
But I guess you know this business really well, they told me exactly the same thing like "it is used"...My logic is every insured car is a used car, and when you estimate the value, it is not a dichotomous thing (either new or used), it is all depending upon the condition of it and I am really sure about my s2k is great condition (Cosmetically, it is better than any AP2 I saw below 17k bucks), I spent half year and finally found this one 500 miles away from atlanta. I told them I can accept the passenger seat from the junk yard but it is absolutely unacceptable for the driver one.

Tell the adjuster you want him to come out and complete a suppliment inspection to document the condition of the used seats, and authorize new oem seats. That'll get the ball rolling for them to come back out to the shop and amend the estimate to reflect new pricing.
dude what company is this? If they sent the check in the mail that doesn't mean that they can't look at the used seats.

i see, state farm is usually pretty good about paying what's owed (atleaset in my experience with them). let's see what they say.
I know when agents get involved then it's usually easier. I'm sure it'll get taken care of, just takes time (which sucks).

The reason I used the word 'scam' is you are wanting full value to replace your seats with brand new ones from Honda - but know well they are not really worth that and can be easily purchased on the For Sale forums for much cheaper. In fact there is an absolutely MINT set of 00-05 seats for sale in the Mid-A section for $600. If you're interested, I would suggest jumping on them - they literally are perfect.
And yes, you are correct, the vehicle should be restored to the condition before it was damaged - that does not mean however you get the money to buy brand new seats. You will be compensated for comparable seats to what you had - which is not going to be $4000.
The seats I was referencing:
