The best course of action is simply to obey traffic laws. Assume right of way when you have it, yield when you don't, and use your horn to warn of impending collisions.

Let the other driver worry about explaining to the officer or judge that he was merging into an occupied lane, running a stop sign, or going straight in a turn only lane and that you should have moved because his vehicle is bigger.

As emotionally satisfying a strategy as this is, the injuries and death (mine) aren't offset by the satisfaction of knowing it's the other guy's fault.

Then there's the fact that the other guy isn't going to be telling the judge that he has an inborn entitlement to be a dick. He's going to be telling the judge that he was driving 5 MPH below the the speed limit, that you were driving your sports car like a maniac, lost control and hit him. How do I know? Because it's happened to me.

I said that the guy had pulled out of a parking lot into the side of my car. He claimed that I sideswiped him while passing on the shoulder. Of course there were no witnesses. His insurance company told me that since there was no way to tell who was telling the truth they were paying for his damage only.

I was very fortunate that a friend of mine was an adjuster for the the other guy's insurance company. He was able to read the file, and tell me that the other guy's adjuster didn't believe his story and would settle if I persisted. I was lucky the accident was back in the years before that insurance company started tracking all accesses to their data.

Hasn't failed me yet. Only one person has ever persisted and come closer than a few inches. An Explorer tagged my driver's side mirror (not this car) before backing off and running away. To make a long story short, I reported the hit and run, worked with the DA to get assault charges filed, and the dick spent a short time in jail. Next time he'll think twice about trying to bully someone in a smaller vehicle.

The courts take "road rage" seriously. When someone pulls this shit, you have to do something. If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

It's somewhat nice to see that I'm not the only that goes through this crap on an almost weekly basis.

Most of the offenders are yapping away on their cell when this normally happens, so maybe that has something to do with it.

This is why many owners fit Air Horns. They're really hard to ignore.

There's nothing more pleasing than seeing the guy on his cell in front of you jump a foot off his seat when he cuts you off and you hit the air horns.

If they are on their cellphones..trust me, no amount of honking airhorns help. I've got air horns and they are still oblivious to it. It doesn't help that our horns probably project into their rear tires!!

In fact every time I'm cleaning the interior of my car and I inevitably accidentally lean on the horn it scares the cr@p outta me.

I had some rednecks in a big ass truck pace me in the left lane and right before they turned left at in intersection they purposly swerved over into my lane making me barely miss hitting a parked car.. They then laughed out the window as they turned.... I dont think rednecks like our cars too much, alot of them talk shit when they see my car....

I was waiting at the red light on Cary Parkway in Cary, NC. It is where you can get on Us 1-64 from cary parkway. The light let the people who go straight first before the the left turn green is on for the on coming traffic. I gun the VTEC while this guy ran in front of me but usually is enough distance until the second a$$ tried to turn in front of me... a mini van. I slamed on my brake I was about half a foot from his rear wheel and the car behind me, a corvette almost rear ended me.
