Default Thicker Headgasket + SC

Would a thicker head gasket be beneficial to SC's?

Would this lower the amount of boost the SC is currently running?

I know that turbo's gain a lot from it, but just wondering if SC'ed S2K's would also see the same gains. Thanks!

The only reason the Turbo's "gain" from it is because they up'ed the boost. If you only add a thicker head gasket, lowering your compression, you'll lose power. CJB80 turned up his boost to gain back the lost power from the head gasket, and then made up some. The idea behind the head gasket is that now he ran run 2 more PSI than he could before without detonating. This allows even more power on max boost with race gas. Here are some somewhat realistic numbers that you could use to understand.

MADE UP NUMBERS
Stock Compression
11.1:1 - 6 PSI on 93 octane - 320HP
11.1:1 - 8 PSI on 110 octane - 340 HP

With Head Gasket
10.2:1 - 6 PSI on 93 octane - 300 HP
10.2:1 - 8 PSI on 93 octane - 325 HP
10.2:1 - 10 PSI on 110 octane - 355 HP

So, adding the head gasket to your SC would lost power, unless you bumped up the boost (by changing the pulley) by 2+ PSI.

So does anyone currently produce a smaller pulley?

I've wanted to go turbo, but damn, things break too much on turbos. Only thing with SC is that I can't get enough power out of it. Maybe I'll add some NOS with the SC or something....

Well, it's my understanding that whoever made the pulley used in the kit (some pulley company) probably sells all kinds of sizes. You just have to find out what size you want, and order one.

I thought I was under the impression that Paxton supplied the pulley as well.
My intercooler installer is looking into it and hopely he can find one for me, if not I believe he can even make one out of billet. If he can find one out there, it should be around $50.
I will keep you guys informed for those interested in tinkering with the Paxton's blower pulley.

Well, unfortunately as I look at the way the belt is wrapped around the blower pulley, if you go any smaller, you may get some slippage due to the belt getting less contact surface around the pulley.
Time to hit the book and find some answer.
Hopely after I do this, things work out.

Paxton may very well make them, but, I'm just assuming that whoever makes them probably makes different sizes...just an assumtion. And yes, you'd need a smaller belt, I assume...never thought either of those would be hard to find; but never tried.
