Absolutely...sorry there was no mention of it in any of our posts!! This is still a four-day event, for those who participate in the whole enchilada. Actually, we are working with Krazik to coordinate the two events. Greg is welcome to chime in anytime to offer his suggestions/recommendations as well...the Thunderhill participants can stay at the Sheraton before attending our weekend drives. That would hopefully help Greg and s2kca out tremendously. Greg...you are still going to come, right? I hope so. Is there any way we can get at least some of the vendors to come show us their wares? Even if it's on a much smaller scale, it would be great if they could come...if not to the Sheraton then maybe to Reno with us.

Station,

Whenever the time is right, could you post a list/schedule of proposed/planned events?

Thanks,
dt

I had another conversation with the Sheraton today and I would like to stress that it's important to have as many folks stay there at least one night (it looks like Friday will be the night) so that they will be more inclined to let us out of the contract. As of now, they don't seem to be budging much at all. I was a little surprised, but I reiterated the fact (over and over) that we don't have any money and that all suing would do would cause us to dissolve the corporation and they would never see a dime from any future event that we would put on at a Sheraton someplace or the one in Sacramento even. It doesn't serve anyone's best interest to stick us like that, but right now that seems to be their attitude...so the more folks that stay there, the better! Help us out!

As for vendors who would be willing to come out. The main reason I think we had to pull the plug was that several of them would be driving or flying long distances to attend. And it isn't economically justifiable to do so for a meet of this size. It's an economic decision, pure and simple. Plus giving up the ballroom space means that the only place for the event would be Thunderhill, at which Elk Grove Honda has said they would participate in something out there. That's probably your best bet, Station...talk to Blair about that, I'm sure he'll be more than happy to accomodate something. I'm pretty sure that King's two project S2000's will be at the track on Thursday and Friday, however. So make sure to get a ride with Jason...he can make those cars do some pretty mindboggling stuff.

I have an email into Comptech about moving the openhouse to Saturday. That would fit the weekend better, I believe. I'll let you all know what their attittude towards that is. I think they are as perplexed as we all are and once the numbers of attendees dropped like a rock, I think they may have lost interest. Again, it's the scale of things that makes the vendors less willing to participate...but as soon as I hear, I'll let you know.

As for me coming out, I'm not sure yet. It depends on a few professional things. It's not likely, quite frankly, but I'm keeping the option open. I'll help however I can from here...

And remember to stay at the Sheraton!!
