Things gotta change...
FWIW - I had a great time at the event last year. Top level professional event. Lots of great driving, lots of fun people, lots of drinking ( though not when driving ) and I even made friends with some of the locals.
Unfortunately I can not make it this year. My two reasons for not going. 1, I am in a wedding that weekend. 2, (as if bailing on one of my best friends weddings isn't enough ) it's not a realistic weekend trip for me living here in NJ.
Sorry guys, I would love to make it. I can't belive that in the state where most of the s2k's in the US live that you can't fill up an s2k days.

I'm surprised no-one has suggested this, but I think a lot of us tecchies can't go due to the poor economy. Sounds lame but (at least for me) it's true.
I reeaally wanted to attend this. After missing the first one (car too new), I decided for sure that I would go to S2kdays in CA. Since then, I lost my job, was unemployed for 8 months, and am now working a contract position without paid vacation. Nearly all my investments/holdings are in the tank. I simply can't take the time or $ for it anymore
So I never registered.
That said, I really hope the event pulls through and is a success. And when things turn around, maybe I can finally participate.

Perhaps the west coast spirit is not quite up to par with that of the east coast
In all seriousness, I don't see how there can only be 26 people signed up for this. My best guess says there's now well over 1000 owners in California alone! It's hard to believe that participation can be so low for such a high ratio of owners.

I will absolutely, positively go to the hotel event (though I won't stay the night there), but I have decided against Thunderhill.
I didn't realize that the hotel dinner/vendor event/morning drive/Comptech visit would be so costly. Forgive me...I just got back from Cabo. Funds are a little tight. I'll need a little time to cough up the coin.
I agree with dlq04 though...you really have to look around for info on the event. It needs to be promoted a little better. I think regular posts in the general forum would help a lot.
We just had a BBQ get-together at Blair's and 14 S2000s showed up. Just about everyone said they would attend s2kDays. Be patient...more people will sign up. For me, it's a money thing right now.

My excuse:
I go out of town on Memorial Day weekend and the 4th of July. I can`t take any time off between those dates, afford to prep the car and pay for the event. Plus, I hate to say it, but there is always something going on in SoCal. I attend a meet or bbq every weekend. This is the reason why NOPI flopped at Long beach a few years ago. I honestly think an east coast or central event would draw much more attendees.

Come on people, start signing up for this! The east coast event was too far for me to attend last year (probably true for a number of west coast owners) and this is the perfect opportunity to attend a very fun event. For us Californians, it's practically in our backyard!
After the turnout and amount of fun had at the Laguna Seca event in January, I'm pretty surprised by the low turnout, too.
Hanging out at the Blue Fin and meeting S2000 owners from Texas, Chicago, LA and the Bay Area was really cool. Driving around town and seeing S2000s on every corner, waving to each other, etc. was great.
Maybe it's 'cause Laguna Seca is a harder track to get time on, and you California guys are all running Thunderhill every weekend or something? I dunno...
But the three Seattle are owners who made it down for LS are planning to be back for Thunderhill and Sacramento, and we're looking forward to seeing the friends we made in Monterey and meeting new ones. Come on people, step up!
