I too went the Billman route and adjusted the valves at about 40,000 miles but that's 'cuz I was here and saw Bill's frightening warning. I doubt we're any significant percentage of S2000 owners. Just about 62K right now so it's encouraging @cosmomiller's valves were fine at 65K after the initial adjustment which in my case were all in spec but at the lower end of the tolerances. The "adjust valves" should have showed up as code B4 at the same interval (105K miles/7 years service) as the earlier cars. Operative word is "should."

But... I checked my car a minute ago. No MM notifications and the oil life shows at 60%. The car has been 19 months since the last oil change 2000 miles ago (oil analysis indicates the oil is literally new.) so the complete system may only be tracking mileage and engine load and ignoring time -- mine is for engine oil. B4 should have been displayed at 105K miles or sooner in the OP's car. My Ford Expedition on the other hand is showing only 30% oil life based on the time from the last oil change and ignoring only 3000 miles.

Regardless the valves are dirt simple to check.

Ap1 and 04/05 Ap2 do not have this design flaw. Something to consider when shopping for an s2k.

I change my oil more frequently than the oil service life indicator displays. I just change the fluids and ignore the minder until it goes off. I reset it as if I had just changed it. I want the thing to stay on track and see happens. I have also noticed the change the coolant message has not fired off either. I will be doing that later next year in any event.
