Default Thinking about getting an S2000

Hi,
I"m new around here and i'm thnking about getting an 04 S2000. I've tried to sit in convertables before and i'm about 6'3. Sometimes i find that my head will stick up a tad highe than other people's heads. Can that be dangerous? If the S were to rollover, is it bad news for me since i'm taller? Or if there's some sort of debri on the road, and it comes at me but rolls with the aerodynamics, will i blow through my hair? or do you guys think that the windshield/seats/wind deflectors should be higher than my head? Hows the headroom with the top up? Anyone around my height that feels cramped? Or their knees touch the bottom of the dash?

thanks
Aaron

I'm only 5'10", so I really can't give you advice on the headroom, but I can comment on the rollover.

If your head sits higher than the so called roll bar on the car, then it's possible you could be in some trouble. The windshield is probably reinforced somehow to help hold together during a rollover, but I wouldn't trust my life to that statement.

Best bet is to go find one, and drive it, or at least sit in it. It wouldn't have to be an '04, b/c the only interior change I believe is more elbow room, which wouldn't matter if we're only talking about height here.

I wouldn't worry too much about rolling the car either. That'd be a worst-case scenario in a wreck, and unlikely, but if you're really super-duper concerned about it, get a roll bar welded in (some look really good) or don't get a convertible.

My friend is 6'4'' and can drive it, but he is not comfortable. I say anything above 6'1'' is too tall for this car. Especially if you're wide.

I'm not really wide. I've sort of got the workout body. So i'm not too terrible wide. Just fit and have wider shoulders. But tha shouldn't be a problem. I just dont want things that are supposed to blow over me, blowing into my head.

I am 6'3" and it is a little tight, but it is well worth it. I do worry about rolling over though.

I'm 6'1" and also kinda wide, and can fit in ok, but it's on the tight side of comfortable. The salesman that I'm going to buy mine from was around 6'3" and I could tell he was not comfortable. My advice would be get the salesman to let you take the car for a couple of hours so you can make sure that you will not be uncomfortable in it after driving long than 10 min.

I'm 6'0" and fit perfectly. You can always get aftermarket seats, i.e. bride, recaro, sparco, etc, and that will lower your seating height by about 2-3 inches.

Yeah, we have a guy here in Mid-A who is planning to try an aftermarket seat in one before he buys. He's 6'6" (his user name is Mechanic). There are some threads out here about it, but it really is an individual thing. PM him. He has done alot of research on this.
