Thanks for all of the replies. I think The ap2 is what I would want, 8k is plenty of revs for me! Is it best to get bone stock even if I might put suspension and possibly a supercharger on later? I am thinking if I get this car it will see the track and in the past I have made projects out of motorcycles that I have tracked, so I am thinking I will want to mod an s2000 if I get one.

If you're handy, you might want to consider buying one of the already modified ones in the "for sale" section.

If I was in your position and planning on getting an AP2 and turning it into a track car, I'd think about an 04-05 to avoid the challenges of DBW when replacing parts.

Do you think an AP1 would be better ? I was thinking the torque of the AP2 might be nice. It would be a street car but track time would most likely be part of the fun.

I'd get an 04-05 AP2 and buy someone's AP1 ECU to get the 9k redline back. That way you'll get the synchros, seam-welded A-Arms, valve retainers, oil banjo bolts... if you're doing swaybars and suspension anyway, then the only downside is the steering rack ratio.

Does the AP2 have a tighter turring radius?

Nope. AP1 has the tighter ratio. So does the CR. It's one of the reasons I prefer the CR over a "regular" AP2.
