Those with the Modifry dash bracket, get in here! (Install/review on Pg. 2)
i have the Modifry dash bracket (as well as about 10+ other Modifry items). it works pretty well, but does take some customization and adjustments of the plastic, behind the OEM dash bezel to get the mounted correctly. even then, there are a couple gripes I have about it.
as someone else mentioned, the bracket is pretty thin, so it isn't very resistant to vibrations when driving, esp in cars with aftermarket suspension & wheel/tire setups. also noted by others, when you have your cell in the upright position and the charger cable connected, there's not much clearance between the cable/plug attachment and the shifter. i usually have to have my cell cockeyed a bit to avoid that.
all in all, the dash bracket is a worthwhile "mod." i don't like the radio/center console mounted brackets, as they look a bit awkward and are bothersome for passengers. i have the Modifry folding cupholder & bracket, which mounts in the same area. i've only used it twice, at most, because of the complaints i mentioned about the brackets that mount there. i've since removed the cupholder. the bracket is still there for when i drive alone.
p.s. i'm using the iOttie One Touch cell holder & attached to an iBolt ball mount (forgot the brand), which all mounts to Modifry dash bracket.

Installed the dash bracket tonight...
Thoughts...for whatever reason, I could not get the damn clips in the instrument cluster out....had the hardest time with that. From mini-screwdrivers, earings, to paperclips...took forever. Then there was the actual bracket mount itself...for whatever reason, figuring it out was like playing with a rubix cube...I suck at rubix cubes... I used a dab of blue loc tite on all screws/hardware in this install and get all of the bracket bolts and nuts sorted out eventually. Now I was ready for the good parts.
Finally got those out and with a dash/interior trim piece, separating the dash was easy. A little freaky after the second loud POP.
I used finger nail clippers as a marker for where to start trimming with the idea that it could also help getting a horizontal cut started.....I was sort of right. They worked as markers and maybe helped a little with cut but not really. I applied a liberal amount of masking tape on the what if/oh $hit factor of cutting the dash of a car I've had less than a week (didn't do the modifry bracket on my AP1).
The cutting was VERY stressful for me...I like Diy but the potential for disaster can be high with one misstep. I test fit the bracket after removal of much of the plastic bits removed thinking it would be slick (I matched the bracket to the dash and through the cuts and it looked great. Once I screwed it all down, there was a discernible amount of gap between the dash and instrument cluster....so now I knew where I was in regards to the removal of material. I continued for some time just taking little by little...slivers at a time. On my second mock up, everything looked great. Screwed the bracket it and I must say, I am pretty damn proud.
Easy enough install, just stressful. I also found a great video on YouTube that pretty much does a step-by-step as well.
As far as the position goes, it is great. I can see how vigorous shifting can cause the position to be slightly obtrusive as I did touch it with the back of my hand on a few shifts checking the fitment of everything. I have decided I will bring a charger to charge the phone where needed vs. charging it in the car (the wire is definitely in a position to be all kinds of in the way). The S2k is my weekend car so this philosophy works great for me. I can see how some would want a charger and I can think of ways to make it work that involve pulling the dash and tucking the wire but for me this set up is plenty sufficient.
Overall, very satisfied...ESPECIALLY considering the cost.

Sorry the interior is pretty dirty...I knew I'd be making a mess so I detailed the exterior and figured I'd wait for the interior until after the results of the bracket. Intake and exhaust go on next Saturday.

Thanks man! I am very pleased with the way it all turned out.
On my little bit of driving around, I feel the phone is secured very well in the mount, however I do wish their design was a little more robust....one member commented that his universal phone mount broke from use and I can see failures down the line. Luckily at $15 a pop and weekend driving at most, that should still be awhile for me.

X-Grip by RAM
I really like this mount... The 3-inch arm raises it up closer to the windshield and is VERY usable... The X-Grip arm is spring loaded and secures the phone quite well. As you can see in the photo, the phone is mounted high (but not too high...it just peeks over the dashboard), and the cord is away from the stick shift.
