Default Those with problems, what were your issues?

Just curious, as I've had some strange things go wrong in mine and was wondering if I was alone on them:

Sept 99: purchased car
Oct 99: valve cover gasket replaced
Nov 99: dash replaced (convex bubbles appearing in dash)
Feb 00: new boot cover
Jan 01: TSBs completed for tranny and seat belts
June 01: MAP sensor replaced (car inoperable)
Current: driver window switch ordered

I know I'm forgetting some stuff, but I'd like to know what's happened to others without reading scores of threads and compiling my own info per car.

March 2000, purchased car;
Haven't done the tranny TSB, but sometimes grinds 1-2;
Overheated the tranny (i think) during DE event, would not shift into reverse for about 2 hours;
Drivers window does not lower automatically;
Was going to put it in for TSB's and recalls until crashing 8, 2001;
Now, just want her back!

currently have a nasty rattle at 3000RPM but the dealer has witnessed it so I've just got to take it in.

I bought one of the last model year '00 S2000's in December.

Since then I've had the A/C recharged twice, with no leaks found either time. It's been two months now and it's still working well?????

I had the belt retractor recall performed and returned once to have rear tray fasteners properly reinstalled and also to have a dash warning lamp reset. I also had to touch up with a Crayon some of the scratches on the roll bar covers.

After the 7,500 mile oil change I had a loud engine rattle/clattering noise on startup; dealer thinks it was a hydraulic chain tensioner problem which resolved itself as oil pressure came up.

I do have the gear rattling on decel but have not gone in for the TSB; an auto engineer friend advises not to give the dealer tech another chance to screw something up when there is nothing functionally wrong with the transmission or clutch.

During break in I used three and a half quarts of oil in the first 7,000 miles. Since the 7,500 mile service the dipstick still reads full after 800 miles.

The dealer lost one of the keys before delivery and had to order a new one. After reprogramming the valet key no longer works but the other two do. I haven't bothered to return again.

October 1999 Purchased my baby
August 2000 TSB-022 (Boot cover recall)
August 2000 Plastic Body Pieces repainted to match (Warranty) small pieces btw
the trunk and convertible top.
February 2001 TSB 054- noisy clutch replaced
February 2001 TSB 055- 1-2 grind eliminated
February 2001 New Dashboard (warranty) had
dimples forming on top of
dashboard.
June 2001 Headlight assemblies replaced
(warranty) bubbles forming in side
assembly on black areas

Pretty much all covered under warranty and only because I elected to get it done...not like any of the problems were really a major issue...I just figured i might as well have Honda address it...and they ALWAYS did!

Hi Sondra

Similar list to yours:

Purchased in April 2000.

* Clashing 1-2 shift - had TSB work done
* Buzzing on decelleration from 4-3K rpms - had TSB work done
* Boot cover replaced
* Driver's window auto down malfunction - actuator replaced
* Rear Tire Premature Wear - 10K on first set, 6K on second
* Bad Alignment by Dealer Caused Car to Handle Terribly and accelerated tire wear.
* Occasionally refuses to go into reverse (can't push lever down to release lock-out)

Current Issues:

Squeaky Mattress noise from somewhere under front ever since Weseloh did TSBs 054 and 055.

Notchy shifting. If you think of a good shift like walking through a doorway, a notchy shift feels like you banged into the door jam as you pass through.

Occasionally refuses to go into reverse

Dealer provided me with razor thin rule straight cuts in my wheel spoke and rear side bumper valence no extra charge as part of misaligning my car. Still waiting to hear back as to whether Weseloh intends to make it right.

August '01 Paint peeling on front and rear bumpers, will have it repainted in the near future

August '01 Transmission occasionally grinds in second gear, both from shifting 1-2 and from downshifting 3-2.
