i am about to buy a vented hood and am just curious about how much dirtier the engine bay gets from the vents letting in water, etc. ? im just wondering if there is any extra stuff i need to worry about once i install it.
thanks in advance.

i have a vented hood, but its custom with black mesh grille, but i get NO water or dirt on my engine. its clean as a whistle. if youre planning on getting one of those carbon vented hoods, you could always get black mesh grille placed under it and you wont have any problems. but actually i tihkn that since its at such an angle, relatively zero to only a small amount of debris could have access to the bay

yeah this hood has a grill in the vents, but water can still leak thru. my engine bay is spotless right now an i would like to keep it that way so im just wondering if the amount of dust and water spots are going to be greater now than before. i wipe my engine bay down almost every time i wash my car. i know its OCD but i love opening the hood and seeing a nice clean engine...

u will notice it alot dustier under the hood
I had to detail the engine bay twice as frequently with my vented veilside hood. Just got dusty really fast.

thanks for the info. thats what i was expecting to hear.....unfortunately
i might just cover up the vent from underneath or something. i mainly want the hood for looks so i guess i will have to see once i get it.
