Default Water inside engine bay

Is it normal to have water getting into the engine bay when it rains? I've never really noticed this but the other day when I opened up the hood, I noticed that there was a small pool of water on top of one of the modules (ABS controller?? it's the metallic box on the passenger's side). I was getting concerned that water might get in.

Water was getting into the engine bay where the fender and the hood meets. I thought it was supposed to channel down towards the front of the car?

I've never noticed this happening on my other cars. Does my hood need to be aligned?

A little water shouldn't hurt. Certainly some will get in through the radiator and some will come in from underneath anyway. What year S2000? Your tag says Enthusiast. If you're hood alignment looks right I wouldn't worry.

I was getting concerned only because water was sitting on top of that module (abs??), which I'm not exactly sure what it is. It sits vertically on the passenger's side right next to the fender, down around the middle of the engine bay.

It's an '04, btw

Let me change the tag in my profile... have been too lazy to change it... haha

Take a picture of it wet, and we'll tell you if it's time to worry. Otherwise, a little water is unavoidable. The electronics should be fine as long as it's not salt water, and their not submerged. Running through deep puddles on snow roads can be bad because it puts a lot of saltwater on the electronic components. But fresh water for the most part is fine.
