I love these replies...

For me
45,000 miles on my YELLOW S2000, no tickets
33,000 miles on my RED Titan, no tickets
103,000 miles on my CRX-SiR, 1 ticket

It could be, now think abourt it, maybe it's not the color of the car, but the way people drive them that gets them the tickets..
Yeah, that's probably a large part of it. However, yellow (and red to a lesser degree) sports cars draw more attention, whether it's from cops or from other motorists.

I personally chose to stay away from yellow because a) I don't really like the color and b) I don't really want to draw attention to myself. I'm 19, my car is not 100% legal (no front plate, non-CARB-certified intake, etc), and I drive aggressively on occasion (I also have zero tickets and zero accidents), so yellow is just a little too "loud" for me.

Sorry if I offended anyone, it was just my perception that since yellow cars are generally more noticeable to other motorists, they would be equally noticeable to cops who want to fill their quota.

White - Says classy. I already know my car is bad ass dont need screaming boy racer yellow to announce it. Also I believe any car with a dramatic shape works well with white. The white is the blank canvas and the sexy shape of the car does all the talking. Especially with the front lip and rear deck lid spoiler to give it some needed aggresion in its lines.
Think back to the Lamborghini Countach, and Lotus Esprit, aggresive wedgy dramatic shape that needed no splashy color to state its purpose. S is in the same motif.
Splashy colors can help make a less naturally "exciting" car seem more energized.

Silver - Every other frickin mother lovin son of B car out there is frickin silver. Its just to much frickin silver. Frick!

Yellow - see above.

Blue- nice comprimise between splashy and not, but just a little plain for the S.

Black - nice in theory, (keeping it clean notwithstanding) but it "hides" the contrast of shadows and such.

red - hmmm, red... sports car... how cliche. (unless its a Ferrari)

'nuff said.

So in conclusion, we see that the color is largely a part of your personality and can not be decided by group vote.

Some people want to be seen, others want to hide in the shadows. Some feel better when they blend in, others actually are boy racers.

Whatever color you decide to go with, you still have a bad ass car to enjoy. Just make sure to pick what YOU really want because ultimately you're the one that's going to look at it most.

sports cars should be red.
Exactly. All the first press photos and press cars (hence car reviews) of the S were red, and that's what I fell in love with. And it is a classic sports car color. I just had to buy it in red. I did notice recenty that 3 of my 4 cars were red (Geo Prizm, TSX, S2000; '98 Civic was green). I would have also considered black or spa (not rio), but red was absolutely my first choice.

I hate boring silver with the passion of 100000 fiery suns, and blue and white don't seem "sports car" to me. Rio yellow is just too mustardy.

The only color I wanted an S in was red. For some reason, yellow annoys me a little. But I suppose I like the attention. And a lot of people stare and drool at the car.

For some reason, I like red best on convertibles, but on coupes, sedans, and other cars, it's not as attractive. I like the deep blues (like the RSX color) on a lot of coupes, for instance.
