Default Ticket for 21 over

I normally dont speed, but i had to pass a guy that was going 40 so i speed up and to pass him and right then the cop flashed his lights, i didnt even see him. The ticket for 66 in a 45, and im a minor. Is my license going to be suspended? This is my first ever speeding ticket or first ever ticket. And i know im dumb guys so dont flame me i just want an idea of what i should expect.

Relax, you will be fine. Just pay the ticket then go to juvenile traffic school It will suck, I think it's 2X3 times longer then normal and costs a lot more but it's better then having a ticket on your record at that age.

When you say minor you do mean under 18 right?

Well for me I remembered when I was 17 I got caught going 39 in a 20 school zone so thats close enough to yours. Man did that suck but all I had to do was pay my court fee($70) and took defensive driving online($30)and I didn't get no point on my record.......

Sorry, I forgot it may be different in different counties. I was in LA and had to go to a different juvenile court and juvenile traffic school (there were only like 5 in the area). Granted this was like 10 years ago, before there was much of an "online"

But my license wont get suspended, because my friend who got caught going 90 on the freeway got his suspended for 2 months and he was 17 with a clean record.

It's a good think I'm not the judge.

I'd make you attend ten years of lessions on how to punctuate a sentence.

Your friend was likely 30 mph over the limit. That's not speeding... it's reckless driving. Different story.

You may even be able to get out of it. If he said you were speeding while passing, that's something you can usually contest. Let's face it, if you're in a passing zone, and someone's doing 40 in a 45 zone, then you're not going to try passing him at 45mph. I'm not doing the math, but that's a long passing time, which puts you in oncoming traffic. It's safer to speed up while passing, then resume 45mph when you get back in your lane. Even here in police state NJ, that's considered a legal passing move.

Talk to a traffic lawyer. You'll pay for sure, but usually you can get it moved down to a non-moving violation (no points). At least that's how it works in Missouri.
