Nah, on track in the dry they are almost good to the cords I ran my last set to almost complete slicks and they still kicked butt. Now if it was wet, it was terrifying at that point! I drove it one day into KC and a huge storm came in and started dumping rain. It was pretty much terrifying in rush hour traffic with the tail trying to wag at even 50mph lol. But like I said, they almost looked like slicks at that point and I was not expecting the rain!

But wear life is pretty short on them. I have never run a set purely on the street but I bet they are getting pretty worn at about 15,000 miles or so. And given the price these days you can almost hear the money leaving your pocket while driving If I drove a lot on the street I would get something else on some wheels for street driving and save them for track/autocross.

It prolly was damp the day I tried to drive up Highway 1 on those worn Bridgestones. I can't imagine driving under those conditions in a car with a lot of torque.

I had to pull over and let the co-pilot barf a few times. She was not amused.

When we returned, on went the Michelins PSS. No problems, since.

RE71RS was insanely good. I want to try out the new RZ really bad. I've taken them to the cords in about 5k miles but I have 1/32" of toe front and rear so that doesn't help. For street driving, it's not worth it. I'll run some like the Indy Firehawks or similar. They don't grip as well but that's fine because they'll tend to slide out in sharp hairpins which is fun.

Also, bucket seats stopped my wife from throwing up. She now loves riding shotgun. That's how we've taken so many roadtrips together in this thing. Bucket seats, man.

I have a fresh set of the RZ's on wheels sitting in my shop. Just have not gotten out on them yet. I will be doing an SCCA Track night the day before a NASA TT weekend, so will run the RE's for the track night and see how they do. Will be on Hoosiers for the TT weekend.
