Too many S2000's?
I rarely and I mean RARELY see another S2K here in Massachusetts. I often go days and even weeks or months without seeing another one. I think it's mainly that you have to either be able to own another car or crazy to own an S in MA. It snows so much here in the winter and the car is so impractical.
I have to say though as the car gets "older" the used ones get cheaper. This seams to result in a majority of the used buyers being young kids. The main goal of these kids seems to be to make the car as fast (and ugly a/k/a riced out) as possible and then to wrap it around a tree.

i still don see that many S2K. i mean i see more than used to.
but old ones tend to ignore me or something.
Last time i was in gas station with someone around 50's,
so i said, "nice car" to break the ice, and he replied "what year is your car (in rude way)" , i was like......."um......05...." and he went, "mines 04" and sudddenly stepped into his car....

I live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and with our ever changing weather and cold winters there arent THAT many here.
I dont know what your deffinition of a lot is, but i would in my area or my district/city there are about 6-7.
You rarely see one on your average day around here.
Still rare in my area if you ask me

Well, I'm a 67 year old who usually wears his Jockey shorts backward, but, hey, that's what senility will do to you. As a recent retiree, I moved to the Sun Belt [Hilton Head South Carolina], and nearly 4 years ago traded my '93 RX-7 twin turbo for the S2000. I live in a gated community of approximately 3000 homes, filled with upper middle class retirees who like their toys, so it is no surprise that there are about half a dozen S2000's in the community. Warm weather, lots of sun, high disposable income, old farts with some life left in them = S2000 buyers.
Most of them will wave back if waved at. Given the natural attrition of accidents, wear and tear, blown engines, the national population of S2000's will never be that great. I still find lots of people complimenting me on the car, who don't know what it is. And some of them are babes half my age. More scary, some of them are 'babes' about my age, whom, I fear, are hitting on me. Unfortunately, my wife does not permit me to date strange women.

Relatively speaking the S2000 is not a common car though other S2k owners are certainly going to notice them if they see them. If you want real exclusivity then you need to shell out the big bucks! I personally don't mind seeing other S2ks out there as long as they're a different color!
Lets see, about 7,000 S's get imported to NA every year, times six years.... 42,000 S2000s are on the road today, give or take 4,000 for wrecks.
At least white is rare!
What kinda bummed me out is that on the Washington State University campus in Pullman there is another silver S just like mine...well I guess it didn't bum me out, I was excited to see him and we gave eachother the courtesy wave...One of the things I like most about the S is its exclusivity, I think compared to alot of the other cars in its category, it is very exclusive and a pretty rare sight to see, for me at least. My 3 top car choices were an S2K, WRX, and IS300, and the thing that drove me away from the latter 2 were that you see 10 of em a day, not so much with the IS300 but alot more than the S. As far as S2000 owner's not being nice to other owners, I haven't seen any of that yet but I've only had my S for a short while so I really don't know. I get excited whenever I see another S so I would assume that the other guy feels the same way. And as far as the stereotype of younger drivers not respecting their car and just being smug, I think that there is some validity to that argument but definately not in all cases. I didn't buy my car myself but I have nothing but love and respect for it...everytime I get out I have to look back 2-3 times to make sure that it's really there and I don't think I've ever been happier than the first time that I went wide open throttle and heard the F20C hit 9 grand...PURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
