It amazes me how some people can't read between the lines. The simple point was most people don't follow what the manual says, IE., shifting to 2nd at 15 mph for optimum gas mileage. Relating to how most poeople DON'T turn the car off to put the top up/down.

If we take a poll, you will see what I'm saying.

I understand your point but this seems to be one of the only things that is stated in the owner's manual that people either overlook or don't care about. Personally I would like to know why Honda suggests not doing this.

Also, you don't have to turn the car off to put the top down. You put it down before you start the car for your drive and you put it up after you turn the car off when you get to where you are going. I can see how some would forget to do this before they started on their way or perhaps they want to be noticed at a certain time so they would want to drop the top on the go.

I'm just curious why this seems to be the most ignored portion of the manual. It's apparently there for a reason. It says in the manual to not downshift and overrev but would you do that? Would you not check the oil regularly simply to defy the manual?
