Hmm... The general consensus last year was that this product would be fine.

Perhaps that's incorrect.

Seems to me that "Use only on polyacrylic/polyester tops." means it works on plastic/vinyl and our PVC tops are a form of plastic/vinyl. Lots of people have used it with no ill affects. I saw an S2000 at a meet that had a top that looked blacker and repelled water better than the others and when I asked the owner said he had used the Porsche treatment on it. I would not worry about it.
