naseeb,

I took your advise and cut a small piece of tubing plastic, looped it in the hook. It works perfectly. Thank you.

I'm not sure if this is great for your car but my top had a lot of wind noise when i bought it and someone told me to just latch the top and then press the button to lower it while it's latched and it will grip tighter and that has stopped all the noise with mine. If anyone knows about this let me know if this is bad for my top or not.

almost 5 years later but thanks for the tip. I slid black silicon boost hosing over the clips for a slightly tidier look. It now clamps up just enough to stop the creaking / rattling

I've tried everything and the driver's side latch still rattles. And it's driving me crazy. I've tried the fishing line trick, running fishing line around all the hinge points. I've tried putting a rubber hose around the hook. When I did that it was a new louder rattle. I've tried wrapping a rubber band around the little bar that the latch clamps to. Nothing seems to work. I really don't want to spend $100 on a new latch. And I have an 02 so it should have the updated strikers. Any other ideas?

Around 56 shipped from htg. http://hardtopguy.com/store/product.php?pr...0&cat=92&page=1
Know you said you don't want to pay, but just letting you know a price cheaper than honda's or wherever you get your pricing .

I get a discount through the local Honda dealer because I work at a Lexus dealership. I can get them for around $25 a piece through them. I just ordered the latch from them a few minutes ago. The latch was $120. Do you think I need a striker instead? I have a MY2002 so I thought they came with the hardtop strikers already. I'll have to look after work today to see how bad that striker is. It looks ok on the car but I haven't taken it off to look at the back side.

What a difference! I cancelled the order for the latch and got 2 new strikers. My 02 had the old strikers and not the hardtop versions. There is still a very little about of rattle at times but not enough for me to justify spending $120 on the latch. After I installed the new striker, I noticed the latch was a lot tighter. Before the strikers came it, the rattle was bad enough that I didn't even want to drive the car. So, with the top latched, I hit the roof button just enough to put tension on it and that helped too.
