In a lot of cases, I'd bet they don't find roads that are safe enough to do this.

Thumbs up

The other night we decided to give it a test. We had the top down, was about 60 degrees out and had i had a passenger in the car and about a 1/8th tank of fuel. We had about 7 miles of straight road with no cars on it. We hit 168 MPH not kph. It had nothing left in it. The only thing done with the motor is an intake and lager fuel injectors. Supercharger and nitrous is ready to bolt on so we will see what happens. IF YOU ARE NOT AN EXPERIENCED DRIVER DO NOT TRY THIS!!! DONT WANT TO SEE ANYONE GET HURT.

[QUOTE=RACER,Oct 20 2004, 01:40 PM] [QUOTE=Intrepid175]On the second quote, the time I did this, was on a 4 or 5 mile stretch of a 4 lane, divided highway.

why would people want to bullshit here? First of all, we all know s2ki are filled with people that has knowledge about s2 as much or more than ourself. Second, who are we trying to impress by ? lilbizzyazn asked a question and we chipped in. Does 140+ mph at the end of 5th gear sound a little farfetched? If it does than you need to stop shifting at 8k. This might sound a little cliche, but stop assuming, it makes an ass out of you and me

I saw 161 twice in my '01, once with very low miles (like 1,500), and once with like 10,000 on it. I tested it twice because the car felt so much stronger as it aged, but there was NOTHING left at that point, there would be no 162.

The only thing I didn't like about it was how long it took, I mean like, well, forever. Compared to other really fast cars I've been in, I had time to eat lunch before I hit 161.
