Top speed for non-modified s2k?
I know... I also stated in my previous post that the Z06 was a hardtop, and that alone probably gives it a better drag coefficient. I am not doubting the 160 claims, because they are probably feasible with good conditions (heat, wind, incline). I was more wondering if someone has done a speed test in more of a controlled environment (track). The more top end numbers that come in, the closer to a true average you can get. Just wondering what to tell my buds when they ask.
Right now I just tell them "fast enough."

as for the car in Germany.... Are the specs for the Euro-version identical to those of the US? Different emission standards, and I think they have the "pedestrian strike" test, or something like that, to pass. I know that several Euro spec cars perform better than US releases (Ford Focus and VW Jetta 1.8T).
Just wondering if his car is better than mine.

i've done 151mph with the top down... but i was going slightly downhill... i probably could of gone faster but i stopped.....
as far as i know it's drag limited to around 157mph or so... and as far as gears go... it's at 172mph or so.... depending on wind, temp, downhill/uphill, yada yada...

and honestly, horsepower doesn't mean as much at those speeds as drag coefficient does.
CoD is only part of the resistance. It must be multiplied by the frontal area. Horsepower is the only thing working against resistance, so I'd say it was pretty important.

Sorry, but there are three factors to top speed: Co-efficent of Drag, Frontal Area, and Horsepower.

BTW, there is a video on Honda-Tech of someone topping out 6th gear in an S2000 which is like 172 MPH.

What about weight?
