Default tough decision

I had to make a tough decision over the weekend. i finally saved enough to buy one of two things that I wanted - turbo/sc for my02 or a nice watch (cartier). I went with the watch.. after thinking about it, it was the best decision to make so that I wouldn't hear it from wifey. i wanted the turbo or sc but in the end i figured the cartier was the better purchase. i don't push the car harder than the power it already offers (although i'd like to sometime) and I got a great deal on the watch (30% off). In the end, I figure if I'm not happy with the watch i can always sell it and get the turbo/sc later since i got the discount and cartier watches never lose value. Just wanted to see what everyone else thought. as you can see, kind of bored tonight!
thanks

I don't wear a watch. In a roadster...time is meaningless.

So you spent it on a watch instead and she's ok with that???

Buy a freakin sweet looking Fossil and take the rest to buy that SC....no one cares what kind of watch you have on your wrist, and frankly if I found out a friend of mine spent that kind of money on something that can be had for $100, I'd kick the sh!t out of him.

Not trying to be an ass, but holy god...it tells you the time. Thats it.

Sorry for my reaction lol...your money I guess...

Hah but you'd get the opposite reaction from a non enthusiast crowd. They'd probably thing the watch is a little gaudy (unless you just have a lot of money and don't care or really like watches) but say "holy god...it gets you from point A to point B. That's it." I'd actually say you made a smart choice seeing that mint Cartier watches, like you said, don't really depreciate and you could always sell it for a turbo. By the way, which one did you get?

You need to let your nutz hang. If the decision was yours, then it's all good. But buying the watch to appease your wifey is weak sauce.

I can tell by reading that you are trying to justify the purchase or your having buyers remorse.

True the watch will last longer and keep it's value longer....but you only live ONCE!...

Don't know how old you are, but theres plenty of time for owning high value accessories like 5K watches.

IMO... if you could afford BOTH...and only bought the watch that's a different story. If you could only afford ONE and still bought the watch then I guess you will have to wait a while before you come across that kind of extra money again.

When someone complements you on your watch...you will feel stroked and feel good about your purchase. Granted, you may have bought a watch that is ugly as hell but it's something that YOU really wanted to have.

A boosted car will give you immediate satisfaction EVERY TIME you drive.

Take the watch and the receipt.....return it.....

Then go buy what you really wanted and tell your wife to deal with it. Is it HER money?

JMO...
