Towing and damage in the future
If your car is towed form a illegal parking stop
and it was towed improperly I wonder if you could get out of the to bill by suggesting that you may very well sue for any future damage that may appear down the road???
I'll probably get flamed for suggesting that, but in this instance my car was towed, it was totally BS situation. I parked behind my local favorite watering hole and came out later to find three of my parties cars towed and a forth had to pay $60.00 since it was already hooked to the tow truck.
The place has only recently been marked as" No Parking" and the sign is fifteen feet off the ground albeit there are plenty of signs at that height. I asked the driver why the signs were so high off the ground and he agreed that they were high, but were placed high since people keep ripping them off the walls when they are in reach. I actually did not see the sign due to the height when I parked.
Usually I would just take responsibility, but this is not even a separate parking lot. It's a section on the edge of a group of building that make up a triangle of buildings in Downtown Myrtle Beach.
There was an editorial taken from the local paper that someone had written complaining about the situation. I'm all for making money, but towing cars for the sake of making money for parking in a lot that no business is open the next day is just plain BS.

I personally feel you have a case, it's morally wrong in this situation and I'm sure no doubt they are as aware as you do. Coming up with the excuse of people ripping the sign off is as good as saying, we introduce tough speed enforcement using heavy fines and more fines but you get to keep your license and drive as much as you want instead of promoting driver education.
probably not. if you think about it, most of the work done by towing companies is a hole work that they overcharge for (unnecessary tows), thus I consider it to be a mostly a hole industry. you won't have much luck, sorry
Its a sad thought to think of an S2000 being towed with its rears on the ground
They'd probably scratch up something or another before getting it locked up on the truck. I doubt they'd use the screw in eye ring on the bumber and flatbed it away.

I hate tow companies, greedy little POS. I hate the people that call the tow company when there's NO CARS in the parking space, and with no warning or wait either. Here's my story, I live in an apartment, and the apartment complex across from mine have 3 empty spaces right up in front. My friend rushed over to my house because he's just picking me up to go some where, ended up that we had to look for some of my things really quick. And Guess what?? there weren't even 30 mins, we went outside, and there was a tow truck preparing to pick the car off the ground, NOTICE PREPARING, meaning it's just behind the car with nothing attached yet. My friend rushed over, and talked to the guy, the guy was being a little shit, as my friend was explaining to him that he was only parking there for emergency, he just went on attaching the equipments to my friend's car. The guy said "well it's none of my business why you parked here, the manager called me to tow the car, and I'm here to tow the car," my friend's about to knock him out, but calmed down, and asked what he could do. THe little shit got the nerve to say, well I have to tow it, but if you give me 80 bucks rightnow I won't, if it gets towed then when you pick it up, it'll be 150 bucks. WHAT AN ASS HOLE!!!! The car wasn't even off the ground when we ran there!! Anyhow, we wanted to do very evil things to him and the manager next door that day, but then that would have caused more problems. So what's the lesson of the story?? Check if you can park at that place at all times, if not run back to check on your car once in awhile, because there can be some little shit who would call the tow company on you right after you leave your car.
